American Society of Pain Educators (ASPE) presents Pain Educator of the Year Awards at the PAINWeek 2012 National Conference.

The American Society of Pain Educators (ASPE) has announced the winners of the Pain Educator of the Year awards for 2012.

For Industry Pain Educator of the Year: Angela Huskey, PharmD, CPE. Dr. Huskey is the Director of Clinical Practice Education for the Millennium Research Institute. She has held various positions in the pharmaceutical industry within medical affairs and has been responsible for developing and managing key opinion leader relationships, clinical education, and collaborative research. Dr. Huskey is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and co-coordinator of the Pain Management and Palliative Care elective.

UCSD Doctoral Pharmacy Students’ Manuscripts Addressing Metabolism of Five Most Prescribed Pain Medications Published in Journal of Analytical Toxicology

Student Research, Guided by World-Renowned Toxicologist, Amadeo J. Pesce of Millennium, has Significant Implications for Drug Metabolism

SAN DIEGO, CA – May 17, 2012 – The Millennium Research Institute (MRI), a nonprofit national research center formed in 2010, and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) announced today five scientific articles co-authored by UCSD doctoral pharmacy students have been accepted by the Journal of Analytical Toxicology (JAT). The articles, which address metabolism of medications including hydrocodone, hydromorphone, methadone, oxymorphone and carisoprodol, will appear simultaneously in the May issue of JAT. (more…)

New Data on Pain Medication Informs Patient Care

SAN DIEGO, CA – February 24, 2012 – The Millennium Research Institute (MRI), a non-profit national research center formed in 2010 by Millennium Laboratories, and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego announced today that they will present scientific data at the American Academy of Pain Medicine’s 28th Annual Meeting (AAPM). Through its partnership with MRI, UCSD doctoral pharmacy students will present seven posters that address the metabolism, patient adherence, co-prescriptions, and drug-drug interactions of prescription pain medications.
