Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) technology enables the use of cutoff levels for illicit drugs and cutoff levels for medications that increase detection of drugs and metabolites, assisting clinicians to better serve the needs of patients.

These articles present research on the development of improved analytical quantitative techniques for illicit substances, opioid analgesics, and their metabolites over a wide range of concentrations.
